Getting to Know Our Newest Members – Chris Lincoln from Barre3

Today, we’re excited to welcome Chris Lincoln, one of the founders of Barre3. A new brand of fitness blending exercise, nutrition, and community, Barre 3 has taken the US by storm, with over 100 studios opened since 2008. Chris Lincoln is on a mission, to make the world healthier and happier. Along with his wife, Sadie Lincoln, he is the co-founder of barre3, a global fitness brand with over 100 studios and a thriving online workout streaming business. Chris and Sadie live in NE Portland and have two children, age 10 and 12, and two dogs.

Suburbs of Philadelphia. Bryn Mawr, more specifically.

Do you have any personal goals for 2016?
Reduce my fear of public speaking and implement Rockefeller/EOS systems in our business.

If we were sitting here a year from today celebrating the great year that your company has had, what did you accomplish?
Hitting our goal of increasing our revenue by 60% compared to 2015.

If you could invite 3 people to your dinner party, who would you invite? (dead or alive)
Abraham Lincoln (very distant relative), Howard Stern (admittedly, a huge fan), and Elon Musk (true visionary)

Who is your role model and why?
My Dad. He is a CPA and is the most stable, kind and giving person. His actions remind me to ground myself in what’s important and to not always chase crazy ideals.

Describe your ideal day in Portland.
Our kids are at the golden age (10 and 12) and so it’s spending the day with the family and dogs in some sort of outdoor and active setting.

Tell us about an accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career.
When we sold our first franchise. It validated that we were onto something and that others believe in what we are doing.

Who was your childhood hero?
My neighbor who owned a successful dental practice. I thought he had the life, made great money, worked 4 days/week and played a lot of golf.

What was the first concert you attended? What was the last?
Jethro Tull (random). Last was Citizen Cope. If you don’t know Citizen Cope check them out!

What are you looking forward to most as a member of EO Portland?
The forum and building lifelong, deep relationships.
