Getting to Know Our Newest Members – Carrie Atkinson of Sock It to Me

Today, you’ll meet one of EO’s newest members, Carrie Atkinson. Carrie is the founder of Sock It to Me, a company that creates quality socks and underwear with unique, colorful designs. Started in 2004 in a little tent at an outdoor market, it now distributes globally. Carrie has lived in Portland for 13 years and enjoys traveling and backpacking.
Do you have any personal goals for 2016?
To learn how to flip turn at the end of a swimming lap.
Describe your ideal day in Portland.
Starts with coffee or tea, 5-6 hours of focused work, some form of physical activity, and the remainder of the day is free/social/down time.
Tell us about an accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career.
Getting a multimillion-dollar business off the ground without any investors.
Who was your childhood hero?
My childhood hero was my paternal grandmother. She fully supported any creative endeavor we dreamed up, had many of her own, and she never said a bad word about anyone.
What are you looking forward to most as a member of EO Portland?
