Meet EO Ignitor
Phil Chun, Founder of Polaris Leadership Consulting

We understand firsthand the challenges and opportunities of rapid growth and expansion. Having been part of teams that grew quickly and risked losing their core culture, as well as teams that successfully scaled while adding new locations, we bring practical insights into leading effectively through change and growth. Our experiences equip us with a nuanced understanding of how to maintain the right culture and build a team that can significantly extend the organization’s reach.

>What's on the horizon for you?
On the personal side, my wife and I are having a baby girl this August! We are so excited to become first-time parents! On the professional side, I have been asked to join the Korean American Chamber of Oregon as a Board Member. I am excited to support the growing Korean entrepreneur and business community.

>What was your first job?
In High School, I cleaned houses for a few months. At the last house I cleaned, while I was vacuuming, I accidentally knocked over a replica statue of a terra-cotta Chinese warrior the family had purchased while on a trip to China. I remember the statue falling in slow motion and the head breaking off the body when it hit the ground. That was the last house I cleaned.

>How do you unwind at the end of a long day?
Whether it be a really good day or a very long day, I tend to cap it off by eating good food. The perfect unwind meal for me is Korean BBQ rounded out with two scoops of Orange Creamsicle from Kate’s Ice Cream.

>Tell us about your favorite EO moment.
Meeting with Travis Kindler at Starbucks and having him dissect my Vivid Vision. I appreciate the time he took to read thoughtfully through my Vivid Vision and give me direct feedback on what could be improved, through a challenging and empathetic manner is something I am so grateful for. My other favorite moment is the first meet-and-greet I attended at Olympia Provisions after I was accepted into EOI. I don’t come from a family of entrepreneurs, and, at the time, I didn’t know many entrepreneurs. Being in a room filled with entrepreneurs was an incredible experience, and I knew that I wasn’t alone in this wild roller coaster ride that is entrepreneurship.
